So I've been hideously quiet on the dA front, mostly because I've been doing traditional art and it's a bit of a shit to scan/photograph paintings and my computers haven't been up to the task. But thankfully that situation has changed due to the generosity of family members who have cool equipment. My latest offering is my special piece, The Doctors: 50th Anniversary Tribute. It was a real labour of love, getting it done in time for Swancon, and now I'm sikking it onto the world! If you like it, do share it on tumblr, blogs, twitter, facebook, whatever. I really want to see it reblogged by the official Doctor Who tumblr, cause it's a stupid little goal I like to have. Hehehehe.
I am also working on original fine art projects, one set of animal and scenery studies from photography that I've done around a lake near where I live. It's really exciting, and I look forward to painting for myself rather than for a fandom or group project.
I am also taking part in a group project a good friend of mine is trying to put together. I have been working with a group of artists here in Perth, Australia, and we are all pop-culture interpretists types, it's really great to work with like-minded people who have widely varying styles. It'll be a super fun project, and if it goes through I'll tell you all about it here.
Oh! I am also ramping up to create a Indie-Go-Go campaign so I can finally get the Cintiq I've always needed. Cintiq = better art!
Until then, the next focus on the horizon is getting print media of my big Doctor Who piece up for people to buy. I will probably have to go through different channels than dA, I'm afraid, but I'll let people know what's happening on my facebook page. Please join it!

Still alive!
I really need to update this more often. SO! In the many years it's been since I updated this journal, I have created the most wonderful thing of all - a person. I had a baby! Her name is Arielle and she's the light of my life! I've been so busy with her that my other work has lagged behind, but I *have* been doing art since I've been gone. I'll upload some of that soon.
Most importantly, I have a Patreon up for my blog, Comic Art Corrections. I'm currently doing a tutorial series there, so if you enjoy 25 Essential Expressions, you'll really love the tutes I'm doing. It's all about Dynamic Comic Art!

Update On Me!
Sorry it's been so long since updates! I was super busy with the Swancon Pro Art Show, which was a great experience all 'round. I managed to complete five beautiful paintings, prints of which are up *everywhere*, so you can go either here or redbubble and get some original-art swag. I was really pleased with the outcome of my efforts, and I got a lot of great feedback.
Thanks so much for the Happy Birthday wishes, everyone, it means the *world*. I had a really excellent birthday! A hippy themed birthday party, lots of cuddles and spoiling from my boyfriend and a buttload of good times.
The huge news for me is that I'm starting univers
Life is fucking awesome right now!
Hello my darlings!
Well, I've been kinda quiet on the art front lately, and that's mainly because I've been both distracted by having an actual real-life boyfriend (shocking, I know!) and completely redecorating my bedroom so that it's a functional studio for both my music and my art. It's getting there. Hopefully it'll rock arse.
The other thing I'm preparing for is the Swancon/Natcon 2011 Professional Art Show, which I'm currently doing digital thumbnail renderings for on my Nintendo DSi. When I bought that thing, I never thought it would be so fucking useful. (Thank you, Nintendo, you can send the cheque to my home address, and the f
Awards and art shows, oh my!
Hey dudes!
Well, I've been very busy with content for local sci-fi art shows. Much to my great delight, this weekend I won two awards at the local Swancon (Sci-Fi and Speculative Fiction convention here in Perth). Awards won:
- 2010 Swancon Art Show People's Choice category for The Fourth Doctor.
- 2010 Tin Duck Fan Art category for The Tenth Doctor.
As I said at the con, I am so overwhelmed, chuffed and delighted. My big hope is to be able to sell pieces in the near future, so I can save up money for a mobility scooter. It'll help me get some independence back, allowing me to go the long distances and travel on public transport just
