Well, it seems that I have been featured *again*, for my Unique Characters tutorial. I don't even have words for how freakin' chuffed I am, and I don't want to harp on like a blubbering beauty queen, so just know that I'm very very happy that people are getting some use out of the stuff in my noggin.
It's gotten me thinking of all the art knowledge I have stored up there. I was lucky enough to go to the Claremont School of Art, which was a proper freaking art school. It was almost like its own movement, in a way. The teachers there were nothing short of phenomenal, and I wasn't just taught how to paint - I was taught how to see the world like an artist and a student.
It makes me sad to think that some of that is gone now, but I realised when I was sharing what I knew about drawing unique characters, that I had a lot of information I could share with people about art and about using your senses like an artist.
It's going to take me some weeks to write these tutorials, but here's what I had in mind:
- Difficult Anatomy: Getting those Tricky Bits Right.
- Learning to See: Art Basics
- Colour: Choosing it Wisely
If you have anything about art that you want to know more about, please *please* feel free to ask me. What do you wish you knew better? Is there something I do in my art that you want to know about? Feel free to leave a comment or send me a note (even better). I want to keep making these tutes and help people enjoy art more. Everyone can be an artist, and if sharing what I know helps people realise that, then all the bloody better!

Still alive!
I really need to update this more often. SO! In the many years it's been since I updated this journal, I have created the most wonderful thing of all - a person. I had a baby! Her name is Arielle and she's the light of my life! I've been so busy with her that my other work has lagged behind, but I *have* been doing art since I've been gone. I'll upload some of that soon.
Most importantly, I have a Patreon up for my blog, Comic Art Corrections. I'm currently doing a tutorial series there, so if you enjoy 25 Essential Expressions, you'll really love the tutes I'm doing. It's all about Dynamic Comic Art!
If there's any sort of lessons o
Still Chuggin' Away, Folks!
So I've been hideously quiet on the dA front, mostly because I've been doing traditional art and it's a bit of a shit to scan/photograph paintings and my computers haven't been up to the task. But thankfully that situation has changed due to the generosity of family members who have cool equipment. My latest offering is my special piece, The Doctors: 50th Anniversary Tribute. It was a real labour of love, getting it done in time for Swancon, and now I'm sikking it onto the world! If you like it, do share it on tumblr, blogs, twitter, facebook, whatever. I really want to see it reblogged by the official Doctor Who tumblr, cause it's a stup
Update On Me!
Sorry it's been so long since updates! I was super busy with the Swancon Pro Art Show, which was a great experience all 'round. I managed to complete five beautiful paintings, prints of which are up *everywhere*, so you can go either here or redbubble and get some original-art swag. I was really pleased with the outcome of my efforts, and I got a lot of great feedback.
Thanks so much for the Happy Birthday wishes, everyone, it means the *world*. I had a really excellent birthday! A hippy themed birthday party, lots of cuddles and spoiling from my boyfriend and a buttload of good times.
The huge news for me is that I'm starting univers
Life is fucking awesome right now!
Hello my darlings!
Well, I've been kinda quiet on the art front lately, and that's mainly because I've been both distracted by having an actual real-life boyfriend (shocking, I know!) and completely redecorating my bedroom so that it's a functional studio for both my music and my art. It's getting there. Hopefully it'll rock arse.
The other thing I'm preparing for is the Swancon/Natcon 2011 Professional Art Show, which I'm currently doing digital thumbnail renderings for on my Nintendo DSi. When I bought that thing, I never thought it would be so fucking useful. (Thank you, Nintendo, you can send the cheque to my home address, and the f

I printed out your faces tutorial, it's going to be an excellent practice tool.
I hope I'm not out of line posting these here. I am in no way affiliated with either site but I have found them invaluable.

Riven Pheonix is a master of anatomy and he provides hours of easy to follow tutorials. You do have to pay for his stuff, but it's worth 5x what he charges.
